Big Picture Happy Mail

Here is month # 2 of Stacy Julian's Happy Mail project at Big Picture Classes in conjunction with Doodlebug Designs.  Challenge:  Distress your card.  I used some Crate Paper PP to create my "Hi!" card.  I distressed the edges.  I hope you like it!

Big Picture Classes' Happy Mail Challenge

(preface: I lost my entire post, complete with pics.  do you know how hard this is for me to do? Aargh!  This is why it has been 5 months since I blogged.)  Wow! It has been 5 months since I posted a blog!  Stacy Julian at Big Picture Classes has teamed up with Doodlebug Designs to create ONE per day and mail to a lucky BPC member!  So, they have issued an October Happy Mail Challenge to all members. Create a card using these colors (above right).  I knew I wanted to create a Halloween card for my secret pal at church.  I used black & orange cardstock scraps for the base.  I attached a BoBunny "Note Worthy" Halloween Journal Card to the front middle.  I added a 3D candy corn embellishment (so old, I have no idea who made it).  On the back I used  a PSA Halloween "Trick or Treat" stamp design with white chalk ink and signed it (your secret pal, of course) in white ink.  Easy Peasy!  Thanks for the challenge!

Shimelle's Cropping Weekend Challenge #8

Well, I had all the plans in the world to complete all 16 challenges from last week's Shimelle Cropping Weekend, but when your dog eats rat poison, you spend the day at the vet.  This may be the last challenge I complete.  It is also in combination with "My Favorite April Picture" from TWELVE.  How fitting since it is a picture of the same dog, which we took to the vet.  Challenge #8 was to create a project using 1 stamp you should use more often.  I chose to use a very large block "grid" stamp.  I have no idea what to do with it; so, I used the stamp as a background with the scraps from the layouts I created this month for TWELVE.  It is a picture of my dog looking over her shoulder at me with an innocent face as if saying, "What?  I didn't do that?"  So typical!

Shimelle's Cropping Weekend Challenge #11

And the fun keeps happening over at Shimelle's Blog with her cropping weekend extended until the end of the next weekend.  This is challenge #11, Mix 2 contrasting Patter to create your background; 2/3 should be one pattern and 1/3 the second pattern!  I also paired this up with my TWELVE assignment to scrap "Personality" for the month of April.  This is my son's personality: Determination.  He keeps at something until he learns it; over and over he shuffled those cards; now it is learning how to juggle.  I used some older American Crafts paper in the same line, but very contrasting designs.

Shimelle's Cropping Weekend Challenge #10

Shimelle's Cropping Weekend, which provided up 16 challenges (I hope to do all 16 by Saturday), on her blog  was so much fun! Presenting Challenge #10:  Use 2 photos on a BOLD background!  I hope this counts! I know it has some muted colors, but it sure bold (for me) in its design! LOTS of presents on it.  I followed her example layout. This is me displaying my wonderful "Dirty Santa" Gifts from New Year's Eve with my cousin, her family and my dad and his wife.  Fun times!

Shimelle's Cropping Weekend Challenge #9

Will blog more; I just need to upload right now.  This challenge during Shimelle's  Cropping Weekend was to use an outdated challenge.  I chose Shimelle's & Two Pea's 4x6 Photo Love from last year; specifically using four 4x6 pics on one layout.  There is a picture behind the title block.
